PRAGATI PROCESS CONTROLS

This bench is built to test MCCB instantaneous tripping (also known as Short Circuit or Magnetic tripping) as per IEC 60947-2 Cl 8.3.3 and custom based requirements. A speciality of the system is that it includes differently designed systems for two different current ranges (Smaller range for currents < 2000 A and higher range for currents >2000 A) thus ensuring equal reliability, accuracy and regulation for both low current and higher current MCCBs. Specially designed custom built jigs are able to accommodate different types of MCCBs enabling the user to test all kinds of miniature circuit breakers on a single test bench. In addition, the system can be made such that it covers the entire range of MCCBs for production floors producing all ratings of MCCB.

Magnetic Trip Test Bench

Magnetic circuit breakers are used for protecting the electrical equipment in case the circuit suffers any problem and an excessively large amount of current flows through it which is dangerous for the circuitry ahead. Loose connections or contacts, wrong wiring or a heavy load attached to the circuit can cause such problems and as a result of all these, a current overflow occurs in the path. So far we have known a lot many types of the circuit breaker and even studied a couple of them in detail. So the basic knowledge of the working of a typical breaker must be clear now, along with its advantages over other circuit breaking devices like a fuse etc. The best one being that it does not need any replacement or a time delay after each switching, as it neither heats up nor suffers any kind of damage in usual conditions.

Salient Features:

·The cycle time is around 7 seconds for 4 poles MCB (less than 2 seconds per pole)

·Can be used for both production and R&D purpose with report generation and statistical analysis.

·Current setting is instant without any auto transformer movement (Saves time and error due to human handling)

·Current, Type of Curve, CT Range, Number of poles are set automatically by the PLC as per the selected setting: User does not have to configure the above settings

·Drop down menu in the PLC to once select the type (rating or caliber) of MCB: Rest of the test parameters get selected automatically (User can simply jump from one type of MCB to other instantaneously)

·Line Voltage variation have no effect on actual test current

·Output current programmable from 0.5 A to 1250 A for magnetic trip testing of MCB (Automatic Selection via PLC)

·Can test-4 MCBs of single pole, 2 MCBs of double pole,1 MCB of 3 or 4 poles simultaneously for magnetic trip
